Manor House Library* will be closed on Monday 19th of September for the bank holiday called to mark the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
In addition to this the library* will also be closed on Wednesday 21st of September as a mark of respect to Chris Moore, who died recently following a brief illness. Many Manor House users will remember Chris, who ran Manor House Library for a number of years before being transferred to Lewisham when the council closed the library in 2016.
Chris was Operations Officer for Lewisham, Downham, Deptford and the newly opened Catford Library at the time of his death, having joined Lewisham Library Service in the winter of 2011. He leaves a wife and two children.
Chris was much loved and respected by his colleagues, he was a dedicated, hard-working librarian with a great love for libraries and for people that was truly infectious. The 21st of September is the day of his funeral and we will be closing as a mark of respect to a unique individual who will be greatly missed by all those in the library service.
Books can still be returned using the drop box located in the foyer of the building. You can also renew your books online HERE and logging in using your library card and PIN, which is usually set to the holders year of birth.
The nearest open libraries on Wednesday 21st September will be Lewisham and Catford. Please check other libraries arrangements for Monday 19th September before travelling.
*Opening hours for Manor House Day Care, midwife services and groups and classes may differ. Please check with your provider.
